Set to premier on Sunday, March 9, Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey will be the one to watch. Cosmos is 13-part miniseries based off the original 1980 series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. The series is hosted by the world famous astrophysicist, and head of Hayden Planetarium in New York City, Neil deGrasse Tyson. Cosmos will air on both Fox and the National Geographic Channel.
“The series will explore how we discovered the laws of nature and found our coordinates in space and time,” Fox promises.
Assign this as homework then have a discussion in class. Since you are unable to fully prepare yourself or your students prior to the premiere, a twist on the KWL graphic organizer might be warranted. The following questions could be asked:
What I know (about the cosmos, space, etc)
What I learned (after watching)
What I want to know more about
Have any other ideas?
Got something to say? Go for it!
