African American History

On Saturday, February 7, 2015, I participated in the Black Lives Matter Wikipedia Edit-A Thon held at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture located on Malcolm X Boulevard in New York. The purpose of the event was to learn how to edit Wikipedia to improve the website’s entries on black history and culture.

Many wonderful people came together from all walks of life with the sole purpose of improving the information and presence of black history. Wikipedia has forged itself as the popular, go-to reference source on the Internet.

How You Can Help

Anyone can create or edit an article.  Listed below are links to Wikipedia’s tutorials. Read the information and practice in the sandbox. Then put your editing skills to work.
