On Saturday, February 7, 2015, I participated in the Black Lives Matter Wikipedia Edit-A Thon held at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture located on Malcolm X Boulevard in New York. The purpose of the event was to learn how to edit Wikipedia to improve the website’s entries on black history and culture.
Many wonderful people came together from all walks of life with the sole purpose of improving the information and presence of black history. Wikipedia has forged itself as the popular, go-to reference source on the Internet.
